Agbani Darego from Nigeria has been tagged on Google search as the ‘ugliest miss world’
Google internet search brings up Agbani Darego as the world’s ugliest miss.
Agbani Darego is a model and beauty queen from Nigeria who was crowned in 2001 as Miss World.
She was Miss World’s first Indigenous African to win.
Darego was named Nigeria’s Most Beautiful Girl in 2001.
However, few months later, she was a Miss Universe contestant and became the first Nigerian to finish seventh overall among the top 10 semi-finalists.
In contrast to a provocative bikini during the swimsuit competition, she was the only athlete to wear a modest leotard.

She became the first indigenous African to assert the Miss World title in November that year (past African winners, such as Penelope Coelen and Anneline Kriel from South Africa, are of European origin, and Antigone Costanda is of Greek heritage, who represented Egypt in 1954).
In her home country, the victory of Darego was widely embraced, and her one-year tenure included goodwill trips and scheduled appearances on behalf of the pageant, and an MFR national award.
