2 Nigerians makes it to the list of Top 5 African most expensive players in Europe

According to the new ranking released by CIES Football Observatory,

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has emerged the fourth most expensive African football star.

After scoring 18 goals and six assists in all competitions,

the Nigeria international made more than an impact in France in the recently botched season.

He also helped Les Dogues qualify for the Champions League next season after their fourth-place finish on the table in the Ligue 1.

See list of Top Most valuable African players in Europe 2020 below :

  3. Nicolas Pepe – €73m
  4. Victor Osimhen – €64m

Osimhen was ranked number 66 in the world’s top 100 most expensive players compiled by the CIES and reported by Complete Sport.

His results have drawn Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, Napoli likes and a number of other clubs showing interest in landing the prolific scorer goals.

After only one year at the club, the former Wolfsburg attacker was also voted the best player of the season in Lille.

Meanwhile, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane’s Liverpool duo occupied the first two positions while Nicolas Pepe, of Arsenal, ranked third on the list.

Both Salah and Mane have been constantly linked to a move to join Real Madrid but the Reds are highly unlikely to allow them to leave.

The attackers have been instrumental in recent times to the achievements of Merseyside-first, it was the victory of the Champions League and now they will win their first EPL title in over 30 years.

Salah and Mane are valued at €145 and €139 million, while Arsenal’s Pepe is third with a value of € 73 million, respectively.

But Osimhen isn’t the only Nigerian on the list of the most valuable players in the world as Wilfred Ndidi of Leicester City wrapped up the top five African stars.

The defensive midfielder, valued at around € 50 million, is taking his position as the world’s 94th most expensive player.

Paris Saint Germain forward Kylian Mbappe is the world’s most expensive player, worth € 259.2 million.

The Frenchman was heavily associated with a move to Real Madrid, but the champions of the Ligue 1 are not yet ready to allow him to leave.
